The Torrevieja Region on the Costa Blanca - Spain
We
selected this area due to the good mix of things to do and proximity
to Alicante region golf courses and blue flag beaches. Below are some links to different local
areas, this is by no means extensive but gives you some idea of
the local region:
Torrevieja is situated just 25 miles south of Alicante airport and 10 minute drive from SandyGolfer's Olive Tree Apartment. This beautiful traditional Spanish town with its attractive marina, waterfront market, street entertainment, shops, numerous cafes, bistros, restaurants, bars, and a beautiful church square has a warm, welcoming ambience and will surely appeal to those who look for a relaxing pace of life in the true Spanish style. The superb palm-lined promenade and harbour board-walk is an ideal place to go for that evening stroll.
Villamartin - The Villamartin development began in 1972 and has evolved into a splendid Mediterranean village of 1500 apartments, townhouses and villas with two excellent Spanish 18 hole golf courses at its heart, including the original Club de Golf Villamartin and the new Las Ramblas de Orihuela. There is also a central square with a bank, supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants. La Zenia is only 4km away with an excellent blue flag beach.
Playa Flamenca is a quiet residential area, non-commercialised, but near to all the required holiday facilities, i.e. blue-flag beaches, championship golf, tennis, water sports, aqua parks, and go-carting. Ten minutes walk from a large shopping complex, 7 restaurants and 5 bars.
Campoamor has an esplanade as well as numerous services that allow for games and sports. It has a lovely harbour which provides ideal services for all kinds of watersports (sailing, surfing,...). The beach provides runways and special accesses for people with disabilities. The beach has public lavatories, showers, first-aid station and a restaurant.
